Micah could crawl at about 6 months. At 9 months, he can now stand very well, sidle alongside the bed or any ledge he can hold on to, call Mama (although we are very doubtful if he really means me, or it is just his way of crying for help), feed himself whole blueberries and teething biscuits - all without teeth. He is a joy to be with as he is a happy, cheerful baby.
I haven't blogged consistently since he started flipping over and now crawling about. It is hard to concentrate or pull my thoughts together when there are endless chores to be done. It also doesn't help that we are on the move so much.
Micah is the type of baby that is curious at what's behind cupboards and what's inside drawers - you'll find him right next to you the moment you open a cupboard door. He learned to open drawers today and we are wondering when he will get his fingers nipped. I bet it is soon.
He knows not to make a fuss when he bumps his head - that's because Papa and Mama just pretend not to notice and no one makes a big deal. It is funny to watch how he looks at us first, to see our reaction and when there is none, he carries on.
He is aware that we are hovering and waiting to say, 'No!', so he is mindful of us especially when he knows that putting the doorstop into his mouth, licking the floor, playing with wires and touching the waste bin are forbidden.
He surprised us a few days ago by signing 'milk'. I've been signing to him since he was born and I guess it works. We've tested it out and know for certain that he really means what he signs. We are working on the other words. I think he understands, 'bath time' - his eyes light up when I sign the word. He loves having a bath.
We can't believe that he will be turning 1 year old in 3 months time! We hope to celebrate in Kuala Lumpur with family and again in Brisbane with friends. I want to throw him a party with cake and balloons.
