There seems to be an increase of interest in traveling to Australia all of a sudden among my friends.
First off, Ling is moving to Brisbane. Adeline and Mas are discussing a holiday down under with the kids sans husbands! David's business partner indicated that he and his family would like to travel to Sydney during Chinese New Year next and they want us to join them and take them around.
A visit to Sydney is due for us because we haven't seen David's brother and his family for a while. The twins are turning 5 this year and the baby turned 1 last month and we haven't met baby Ethan yet. Audrey, my schoolmate who lives in Sydney was back home in Kuala Lumpur in July and I missed catching up with her. She would be another person I'd like to touch base with.
I wouldn't mind a trip south to Melbourne to see Michelle, Paul and their dog, Boo Boo. I've only been to Melbourne once, years ago and I didn't get to explore much as we were there only about 3 days. David's sister lives there and although I see her often enough, it will still be nice to see her and stay at her house.
I guess I'd have to check out flights to Australia and to see if I can get some cheap deals on internal flights as well. I know I will have to find out Sydney flights first because we'd probably head there first. Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne are so far apart and if I can get a bargain, it would be expensive to visit all 3 cities. Since I have friends, I rarely have to check out holiday offers for accommodations unless I go sightseeing outside the city.
There are no definite plans yet and I don't always count on wishes coming true. Still it is wishful thinking on my part to be able to visit family and friends in Australia, pack in some sightseeing and shopping for a wholesome holiday!
